Pt. Mukul Shivputra during the lecture-demonstration at the School on the morning after the concert |
The day has come and gone and Pt. Mukul Shivputra has left yet another indelible mark on the open walls of the School of Architecture, CEPT, Ahmedabad. This time seemed even more special than ever before: the range of ragas and creative virtuosity displayed by Mukulji in the evening concert was astounding, and yet-- even more so was the lecture demonstration that took place in the Piraji Sagra basement the next morning. He answered questions set by students of both Indian Classical Music as well as Architecture; both students versed in the intricacies of this genre, and those who possess but a peripheral knowledge of this art, yet are attracted to this form because of similarities of form, expression and the general idea of creativity. Talking to a mixed crowd, Mukulji covered a range of philosophical and worldly and other-worldly talk that shone in depth as well as broadness. It was indeed an honour to hear the man, the thinker, the performer and the critic Mukul Shivputra.
It is our intention to put up as much material as is possible from the two-day event on this website.
